Who are we?
- Justice, Peace, Reconciliation, and Creation (JPRC) is a department in PCEA that was set up to handle issues that call for the church’s engagement with the State and Non-State Actors on matters that require the Church’s participation and critical input.
- The JPRC Department is anchored in the PCEA Constitution, the Practice and Procedures Manual (1998) under Act 26.
- The current Director of JPRC is Rev Elias Otieno
How does J.P.R.C operate?
- As the technical department that links the church, State and Non State actors in matters of global and national importance.
- Participation in policy development and implementation at Church and National
- To offer Civic Education and awareness on the entire electoral process.
- Empower religious leaders with skills to effectively engage in Alternative Dispute Mechanism (Mediation) and as Paralegals.
- Training hub for leaders in religious and cooperate governance for efficient and effective service delivery.
- Enlighten members on the state of the nation to challenge them into getting involved through public participation as informed citizens with rights and responsibilities.
What are the thematic areas of J.P.R.C?
- Justice – programmes on systems of delivery and administration of Justice
- Peace – a vehicle to enable advocacy and peace messaging structure
- Reconciliation – involvement in paralegalism and interventions leading to restoration of relationships through Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms
- Creation – ensuring an atmosphere for respecting human dignity and environmental stewardship.
